This book addresses novel analytical and modeling tools for the assessment of power system supply quality. The presence of harmonics (waveform distortion) in power supply has proliferated with the increasing application of power semiconductor devices used in electronic equipment in industry, commerce and the home. Harmonic distortion problems include equipment overheating, motor failures, capacitor fuse blowings and inaccurate power metering. The authors of this book take the reader through time and frequency domain simulation, the standard Fourier analysis requirements, identification of earth and conductor impedances etc., which need to be used for reliable, direct solutions. They then proceed to look at converter characteristics, controls and non-linearities and iterative analysis techniques.

This book gives the most needed information on power system Harmonics along with the necessary background theory. It is a most useful piece of information source on the topic of growing concern.

A truly influential master

It's not by chance that Walter Simonson himself writes the foreword on this book. And you can go and ask Bill Sienkiewicz.

Italian artist Sergio Toppi had a singular, unique voice. His sense for layout has been "invoked" by many, but never imitated.

And now, thanks to Archaia, american readers will be able to know and enjoy it. Do yourself a favor and get this book, but do yourself a double favor and get it somewhere else if you want it in good condition. I tried three times and Amazon's terrible packaging service managed to ruin it all three.

Amazon's answer to this too frequent problem? Putting the book under review, as if there were something wrong with their stock, when what they should be "reviewing" is their unprofessional and highly inefficient packaging department.

Gorgeous!!!

I never knew about Toppi until he passed away last year and an artist that I know mentioned it. As soon as I saw some of his work by doing a Google search I had to add whatever I could to my collection. I'm not a big fan of purchasing stuff in a foreign language because I like to read as much as I like to look. And in the case of Toppi, you don't get much story without the text due to the graphically stylized nature of his work. Luckily there were two tomes being published in English and were available for preorder at great prices so I went ahead and did so. I finally received this, the first one, the day after christmas and was ecstatic. It's everything I had hoped it would be. A nice hardcover binding with a matte finish and thick pages with just the right gloss to really make the artwork pop, at a great price with beautiful artwork and engaging stories. I'm a big fan of black and white comics when they are as engaging to look at as this, but was glad there were some color sections to show off Toppi's amazing watercolor work. The stories themselves and they way they are told are very European or Heavy Metal comics style, which is a good thing in my mind, but if you don't like that, buy just for the artwork and you may find you do. Archaia did a great job with this and I'm really excited to get the other book I ordered. I hope they end up doing more translations of Toppi's work to publish in English speaking countries as I know I will be right there ordering every one.

Inspiring art, opening new worlds

At Emerald City Comic Con 2015 one of the artists I showed my portfolio to suggested I check out the Italian artist Sergio Toppi, saying "I think he's doing what you're trying to do here". I browsed through this book at the BOOM! studios convention booth and was impressed by how keenly the artist was able to pick up on my artistic sensibilities. Toppi's work is incredible blend of detailed line art and abstract forms - reminiscent of two of my favorite artists, Gustav Klimt and Gustave Dore. 2 of the 12 fables are in full watercolor, the rest are black and white. Each page looks like it should be a poster print. The drawback to this is that, at least in this collection, the storytelling is sacrificed for the sake of the image. Without the text and dialogue, one wouldn't be able to follow the story, which is a big problem in the world of comics/graphic novels. Thankfully, Archaia has printed this and another book The Collector in English, hopefully with more to follow.

As for the story itself, it is essential a sample of tales taken from the The Arabian Nights: Tales of 1,001 Nights: Volume 1 (Penguin Classics), which I haven't read yet. It's the same source as the popular story of Aladdin and while that story doesn't appear in this book, there are a fair number of malevolent djinni's that make appearances. These are basically similar to Grimm's Fairy Tales, made more exotic to most Western readers by their setting. This isn't a book to give kids who loved the Avengers films, but rather something for more mature readers who love strange literature that isn't plot or character driven. Probably the most similar thing I know of in "mainstream" comics is what Mike Mignola is currently doing with Hellboy in Hell Volume 1: The Descent.

It all started with one, simple, burning question: I have everything I thought I wanted; why do I still feel miserable?

I spent five years and over $12,000, read hundreds of books, pored over hundreds of academic journal articles, listened to hundreds of podcasts, and took in an enormous amount of audio, video, and live trainings to answer that question and have the transformation I was searching for. I read a lot, especially what I consider motivational books. This author is now on my must read list and I hope that he publishes more books.
Level Up is well written and the author follows the right gradient in which to help people take control of their lives.
In this day and age, we live with a roller coaster economy and unknowingness of what the future may bring. Hvaing confidence is a must and it is often hard with job layoffs increasing and sales sometimes harder to make. Life in general is much different than it was a few short years ago and having one's confidence shaken is now a much more frequent occurance. This book helps one get in the driver's seat and stay there comfortably.
I was very pleased with this book from start to finish.

Jim Wolfe's book Level Up: Your Guide to Authentic Confidence and Internal Bliss Level Upis a fantastic addition (or start!) to anyone's library of personal growth reading. Written as a result of his own learning along his personal journey so far, this book is both a practical as well as theoretical guide. Serving as a model and a mentor, this book inspires and supports readers along their own individual paths of self-awareness. With a logical progression, useful references, and helpful exercises, readers will learn to live from the inside out.

Anyone interested in self-awareness, personal transformation, or authentic living will appreciate this book. Those interested in learning from another's experiences, or in absorbing the positive effects of a shared success story from a "regular" person, will identify and should not miss this book.

The honesty this book expresses and the map James sets out for the reader is a perfect schematic for a person to insert their own inner dialog, learn how to systematically weed out the negative thoughts and inner dialog that cloud our self-worth. He skillfully shows how to shift your thinking to a personal positive gear and move toward that “Aha Moment”. That moment is the culmination of realizing you are a sentient being that is more than capable,wrapped in a beautiful package no matter the circumstances.

"Nugent (Notre Dame) is a fine historian and a good storyteller. His latest book is a multilayered narrative of the movement of millions of Europeans to the Americas. Different from many other descriptions of the transatlantic passages, which tend to be focused on one side of the ocean (the lands of the senders) or the other (the countries of reception and resettlement), Crossings tears down what Frank Thistlewaite once called a saltwater curtain. Nugent moves―and moves his readers―back and forth across the Atlantic, describing the social and political conditions that pushed Europeans out of the Old World and the factors―not least of which was the promise of a better life―that pulled them into the New World, particularly to this country and to Argentina, Brazil, and Canada. Using a variety of social and demographic data by which to compare the several countries of immigration, the author challenges certain widely held assumptions about American [meaning US] exceptionalism. That is one of the subtexts in this interesting and informative work. This concise, well written, and data rich book is a nice overview of major features of migration across the Atlantic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Nugent summarizes a large volume of data quite well. He initially reviews features of the emigrations from the major European donor nations and then the immigration patterns to the 4 major American recipient (Argentina, Brazil, Canada, US) nations. There is particularly nice use of tabular data and text summaries of important qualitative features of migrations. Nugent is very good on the many common features of the migrations - the extension of traditional intra-European patterns of migration, the importance of expanding rail and steam links, the increasing importance of labor migration, and the high rate of backwards flow across the Atlantic. Nugent also does a nice job of discussing many of the distinctive and contingent features of the trans-Atlantic migrations. Major emigration from much of the Balkans was contingent on the relatively late penetration of railroads, the high rate of female emigration from Ireland reflected distinctive features of Irish society, and the strongly oneway migration of Ashkenazi Jews resulted from recurrent pogroms in Russia. I suspect many readers will find this book particularly interesting with respect to these more detailed discussions. The existence of so much migration between Canada and the US was unknown to me previously and the descriptions of the South American migrations are quite interesting.

Nugent is also concerned with evaluating 2 major issues. First, was migration to the USA distinctive, as is claimed in our national mythology. Nugent concludes that the answer is no. While there were some distinctive features, migration involving the USA had much in common with migrations involving the other recipient nations. Nugent also analyzes a stereotyped model of the demographic transition and finds it fails to capture the richness and variety of demographic changes. Very nice bibliography.

Amazing Cuckold and Hotwife Erotica!

I love stories about husbands who come to realize that it's one big turn on to see their wife with another man. In this tale the hubby comes to realize it's really his only choice or he'll lose his sexy little hottie. The story is about a newly married couple seeking a little sexual spark! They try swinging but it does not work out all too well. James just can't keep up with sultry Tiffany still and bedroom play begins to turn to disappointment. Then a terrible accident regarding James, followed by a wild opportunity for Tiffany leads to big changes in their marriage. The wife becomes the woman she has within and the husband has no choice but to allow her to pursue financial gain via sexual escapades.It's a hot book, well written and full of all sorts of crazy encounters where cuckold must watch and or join his smokin kitten of a wife. Bravo Derrin Hart!

Can't win

I'm giving the stars I'm giving solely because I don't want to discourage author's from dipping into the cuck pool. But the writing was horrible. I don't know who these people are giving this all the the good ratings but I experienced the complete opposite. I understand that you don't have to live something to write about it, but you do at least need to research and put yourself in that person's shoes. I had little empathy for the main characters because they were not full, developed people, and while the premise is one I prefer, I still could barely get through this one. Too bad because I read a great cuck story the day after I finished this one and it was so short. Can't win.

I went into this book with high hopes, especially since the cliffhanger we were left with from book 1 was of epic proportions. I think had this book started exactly where Lawless left off, I would have been more into it, but it went a completely different way, and unfortunately I was left feeling a little bit let down.

I stick by my opinion that this should have been one compete book, rather than split into two parts, because I think I lost my momentum.

Great characters, some huge twists, and a really gritty story.

Soulless is part two of a duet, and part 4 in the overall series. Told in dual POV.

Soulless is Bear and Thia’s conclusion and let me start by saying, it was an eventful conclusion!! That will leave you guessing at every turn and dying to turn the page!

Based on the ending of Lawless I had an idea of where this story would go, but I definitely didn’t guess this one. In true Frazier fashion, the twist and turns kept coming and it was completely unpredictable.

Bear is seriously badass, something we all knew already. I love how he is completely dedicated to Thia. His devotion and protectiveness had a huge smile on my face. He was completely selfless in his love and willing to do anything to ensure she was okay. He is an awesome lover, boyfriend, whatever, but more than that he is an awesome guy. He is loyal and I loved his will to fight, it offset his sweet side perfectly.

Thia is one heroine I genuinely liked. She isn’t perfect, but all of her decisions were to help Bear. I love how in Soulless she realized her strength. She is seriously a fighter and she is a ride or die chick willing to do anything for her man.

For two characters who never had love and family, it meant so much to me to finally see that happiness and desires fulfilled in each other. This story is so suspenseful and action packed, but holy hell it’s still sexy as sin and so freaking hot. Like legit, Bear and Thia were burning up the pages!

I have loved Bear and Thia’s story so much and seeing their HEA made me so happy. I absolutely recommend this series, I have enjoyed all the books and can’t wait to see what comes next!!

Finally we get to the bottom of Bear and Thia's story. The ending of Soulless, had my mind thinking of all the possibilities that could happen. What was up with his mother, what happened to his father and every brother in the Beach Bastards MC. The author clears up all of the questions and then she adds to it.

I liked the story but I felt it was rushed at times, I feel there could have been more added to it and some things taken out. As for Bear and Thia, I am glad their story came to an end. They had an unusual start but were dedicated to one another. They both had a lot thrown on their plates, with family who turned their backs on one another and lies buried and truths learned, but came out stronger than other. There was a new character added who has piqued my interest. Then there was the ending of all endings or cliffhangers. I was left with my hand covering my mouth, saying "what did I just read?" So, go check it out.
